Aurelio Salas is a trusted advisor to the owners and operators of closely held private companies. He launched Cypress Advisors in 2002.
His transaction experience includes advising the founders of several middle-market companies through successful buyouts, as well as executing and/or sponsoring select principal investments on behalf of prominent family offices. Before launching Cypress, Salas was a vice president in corporate development in the New York headquarters of Citigroup (NYSE: C) where he helped execute proprietary direct investments and commercial alliances for Citicorp Venture Capital and e-Citi Strategic Investments. Earlier, Salas was a vice president in corporate development in the New York headquarters of The Chase Manhattan Bank (NYSE: JPM). Salas also served as a senior advisor at AllianceBernstein (NYSE: AB).
His civic involvement includes serving as a visiting lecturer in corporate finance and private equity at the University of Miami, serving on the board of directors of the renowned youth crew program at the Miami Rowing Club, and fundraising for emergency and humanitarian aid through investiture in the Sovereign Military Order of Malta.
Mr. Salas holds a BA from the University of Pennsylvania and an MPS from New York University. He commands native fluency of Spanish, is a candidate for the CFA designation, and holds Series 7 and 66 licenses from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).
